Our story

Violet - the ‘Queen of Soho’

Born in Soho in 1927 and a resident ever since, Violet - the ‘Queen of Soho’ - became a true local institution. Under her curation, Violet’s Restaurant was created as a place with the old-school Soho atmosphere that harkened back to the days when she could be found dancing with American Officers in WWII at the Astoria, before heading out for late-night salt beef sandwiches.

A celebration of Georgian khachapuri

Today, Violet’s Restaurant continues her legacy with a new chapter. While the name remains the same, the restaurant has been reimagined as a celebration of Georgian khachapuri, the timeless character of Soho meets the rich traditions of Georgia - from freshly baked khachapuri and handmade khinkali to hearty dishes made for sharing, all served with the warmth and generosity of Georgian hospitality.

Violet’s number one rule:

“When you live in Soho, whatever you hear, whatever you see, zip it!”

As we say in Georgia:

“Every guest is a gift from God.”
